This is based of the UE3 "Deck" Level. Our Level Artist put this together in just 5 days using the APEX destruction tools. The destruction is non-game play affecting but adds a lot to the level and provides a much better gaming experience. It would have been easy to add game-play affecting destruction as can be seen in the test level.

  • @KittenKiller not ww2 but BF:BC2 :)

  • This would be really good for a WW2 game where there are tanks driving through the street blasting holes in houses.

  • @thefloop check out some of the demo vids on youtube, I'm glad to see that this time it doesn't make the shots look over powered.

  • @Spo8 You can program it to where it is fully destrcutable. Frostbites physics are really weak, pre-scripted particle effects that, like you said, explode in certain areas of the wall, is not any where near as good as what PhysX can do.

  • nice, but the debris falls a little too slowly

then again, this could have been made on a smaller planet

  • Great!!

  • Can't ever get excited about a thin layer of destructible stuff on top of normal, invincible walls.

Looks like Frostbite is close to being real destructibility, but if would be far better if it was altered so it isn't just "this square of the wall blows out because you shot in the general area of this square."

  • @Nanogrip

really. at least make the gibs fly in every direction, not just slowly crumble away.

    ITS A GODDAMN EXPLOSION

  • Great work, now make the walls like that

  • The explosions looks like they do as much damage and movement as a baby farting in a bunch of loose foam bricks.
