Okay, so another interesting game I played lately that I figure that few people would actually know about is this one. I know what you're thinking...and it's one of either two things: "Power Rangers are lame!" or "Power Rangers are awesome!"...and the former opinion is usually based on generational differences while the latter is fueled largely by nostalgia. Let me be perfectly clear, the reasons why I like this game are driven by neither of these factors.
The fact that I had a 90s childhood is only the reason why I ended up getting this game in the first place, but the factors that keep me playing and enjoying it today are far more rational...probably.
The game itself is a cooperative arcade-style beat 'em up that lets you play as any of six playable characters, each of which will come up at least once along the way, so no need to worry about somebody getting left out of the action.
I suppose a little explanation is necessary in that the title itself is largely a lie...or at least a rather serious afterthought, since the claim that this is a game adaptation of the Power Rangers movie is pretty much untrue. The true part is the "Featuring Ivan Ooze" bit, because he IS the final boss...and as such he's a feature of the game, but very little actually has anything to do with him.
As for actual gameplay, the basics are pretty simple. There are generally two lines of action (sometimes only one) and you must fight your way through several stages, each of which has its own set of areas, obstacles, enemies, and a boss monster typically derived from the television series. I'll let you see what it all looks like first, then explain in greater detail what factors are at work when it comes to playing this game.
I chose Adam for the simple reason that he is one of the two characters in the game whose aerial attack is a kick instead of a punch, which sounds silly and all, but think about the difference it makes. Of course, it's all moot anyway once it's morphin' time, since all Rangers have a jumping punch attack. Oh well.
As a bonus, playing as Adam is basically only time you could ever find yourself playing a game as Johnny Yong Bosch and performing limited-range Hadouken-like energy attacks...I have no idea where he learned that trick, but I like it a lot. Way to go, Johnny!
Incidentally, Rocky is the other character who can perform an aerial kick rather than a punch.
I'd also like to point out how almost everything is emblazoned with the same "Z" emblem as Lord Zedd's, from enemy robots to cars and blimps...even graffiti, for crying out loud. I can totally picture a Putty being instructed to stop to spray a Zedd tag while nobody's looking. Heck, even if he's spotted, who's going to mess with a gibbering dude made out of clay brought to life? Nobody, that's who.
The boss of this stage is Mirror Maniac. Can you spot the precise moment where my P2 had to drop his controller and take care of something else while I had to finish off the monster while trying to keep him from getting taken out in the meantime?
I love the part where the car hits the Z-Putty.

@ZeldaTheSwordsman Not just that, a Z-Car hits a Z-Putty...I had no idea that Lord Zedd owned so much of Angel Grove! His forces really could use some better ground coordination than "GET THOSE POWER RANGERS!" though...
Ah, who cares? Ivan Ooze doesn't need to be careful playing with other people's toys!

@ForeverSnes1985 I sent the composite output of the SNES to a capture device connected to my computer.

hey how do you do that special kick without the suit that rocky did

@TheZxtere Unmorphed characters each have their own special move. You'll notice that as the Power gauge fills up, it will change from a purple to a lighter pink, meaning you can use up some of your energy to attack instead of saving all the way up so that you can morph.
The command is performed by pressing X, the same way as morphing manually, so once you have a full Power gauge, you can't perform the special move, since instead the players will turn into Power Rangers.
