We worked closely with Tom Rousculp from the BTA on this limited edition packaging project. The finished piece, designed to hold custom cast silver bicycle pins, consists of an Arigato shell, a custom cut pin back card, and a signature card.

This project is one of the first specialty printing projects in which we had the opportunity to use our 1946 Linotype 31 to compose & cast the type. After casting, the lines were locked up and letterpress printed. We also used the Heidelbergs to die cut and number this piece, and used one our small format offset presses to print the matte varnish pattern on the pin back card.

The bicycle pins are fashioned after the bike pin that Congressman Earl Blumenauer wears on the floor of the House of Representatives. Cast in sterling silver by local jewelry maker Panurgic (http://www.panurgic.com), each pin is numbered, distinguishing it as one of the very limited edition of twenty.
