@inipravi Since this rake belongs to Central Railway. WR runs parallel, but on the western part of Mumbai, while CR runs along the interior/ eastern part of the city.
@sehwag0007 These rakes are indeed a result of a lot of R'n'D and testing and inputs from the commuters. The original technology and rake was provided by Siemens, which was proving costly. So railways decided to buy the technology rights and manufacture them at ICF, Chennai and since then they are on a roll. They are made out of steel and hence lighter and more durable and lasting. Interior are designed so as to provide amazing ventilation. They save 35% power! And gr8 acceleration....love 'em.
@chakdemumbai234 Well, Delhi has a metro, that is relatively new and Kolkata has it since long but is not a profit provider at all. Speaking about suburban local trains in these 2 cities, Delhi has a very poor network of those locals as compared to Kolkata which has a staggering expanse of suburban sections and most of the sections have 4 lines. However, Mumbai has much longer, busier, tidier, crowded and efficient suburban n/w. Though Chennai has suburban trains, those are not in competition.
