  • "Creative and independent thinking is the

ultimate the origin of our modern prosperity."

Mr. Backwillow, I understand your intention and I respect it. However, creativity almost always leads to conflict. Try to fill a can with different types of rocks.

  • True. Creativity yields diversity, diversity implicitly yields some form of conflict. The question is: will this conflict be managed in a constructive fashion or a destructive fashion? If the resulting conflict may be managed toward a constructive end, then conflict becomes an invaluable asset to the development of a state or enterprise. If I have misunderstood, I am curious to hear more.

  • Whether they be immigrants or born citizens, my point

was, that creative and independent thinking is the

ultimate the origin of our modern prosperity.

  • Also, I don't claim that things were all peachy

    during the industrial revolution.

There was a significant degree of cultural lag (in regards

to society catching up to the technology) that caused our

nation great stress and pain. However, these pains were

growing pains, and like it or not,

we are better off because of them.

Let me be clear, prosperity was not commonly enjoyed

in that age, but it is now commonly enjoyed because of it.

Thanks, I did need to clarify that point.

  • I enjoyed your video. You bring up some excellent points that I want my students to consider. I'm going to show this video in my microeconomics class to stimulate some creative discussion. Thanks again!

  • Before I explain myself, I would like to say I am not 100% correct all the time. You are on the right track on my imagery. Creativity is a frail thing. It needs only a man but hundreds to achieve. Creativity is a star so large and beautiful, sometimes it cannot be duplicated or even explained for that matter. One can be far more resourceful and successful if he were to think and use his talents to take a highway to benefit the world at large.

  • I think you should go further as to provide a possible solution. Or point out in what ways creativity is being hindered. Otherwise, great video!

Personally, I believe the American Education System intentionally stifles creativity, and intelligence, in order to create producers, and consumers, allowing nothing between. I think they have been very successful, and it will take a lot of work to undo the devastating effects. Should I ever have children, they will never set foot in an American school

  • Here's what I think. This guy is HOT!!! I believe that if we met, we could be very creative and very productive.

  • Very good! creativity in america is being killed by liberal social politicians like Obama/clinton, and the teacher unions, through greed and ignorance.

  • lol

  • Wow, an American cant even criticize America without some European coming in with some insults.

  • An excellent video response. However, have you considered our current "prosperity"? The point of the Unicef video was that America is falling behind. We are nearly $10 TRILLION dollars in debt, we run an $800 billion dollar annual trade deficit, and we now stand on the verge of a serious decline in our standard of living. Creativity is fine, but productivity and strong governance will determine our future. We should learn more from China.
