WITNESSES TO A SECRET WAR tells the stories of three generations of Hmong refugees as they struggle with their personal and political legacies. The Xiong family, who fought on America's side of the "secret" war in Laos, tries to claim their own piece of the American dream while Hmong American Ka Ying Yang tries to understand her own similar family history.

  • It's very sad story, my tears drop when i see our Phagna Norapamok General Vang Pao drop his tears on this video it's make me feel sadness. we have lost our Great Genenar and our country, we sould be all together and helping each other OK Don't hate each other and then say have you own group & i have my own group, we're only one group!!!!!!!!!!

  • To all My hmong brothers and sisters. I sympathize with you for what my lao people have done since becoming a communist government. But I must ask you not to hate all lao people. My grandfather was a captain in the royal laos army. the same royal laos army who fought alongside the hmong people for freedom and democracy. I ask you to just remember, that there were some lao people who fought alongside you. I know because of my grandfather, who fought alongside hmong and married a hmong!!!

  • moral of the story is dont fight people in your own country, unless u know u can win or suffer the consequences.

  • if you haven't seen the whole cover story i advise all of you to find it and watch it. for the younger generation who doesn't understand what when on back then. I of course am one of the younger people who did not experience this. But to be able to see this video makes me think of what my parents went through coming to the US. There could of been a chance I wouldn't be here today if they never made it and I appreciate GVP for making it possible. RIP General Vang Pao.

  • real talk i cried when vang pao started to cry.....
