Good show of athleticism from the runner, but the cather isn't the brightest player either. What we he thinking putting his glove down on the line so early? Well maybe if I just wait here, he'll run into it....

I know someone said this already but if this game was played using NFHS rules (national federation), the runner would be called out. The only time a runner can hurdle a fielder is when they are COMPLETELY lying on the ground. Great effort on the runner's part but sorry, he's out according to Federation rules.

Viewers should know that any game played under NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) would have the leaping runner called OUT due to a violation of the rules. The NFHS is more concerned with safety and leaping, jumping, hurdling is only allowed when a fielder is prone on the ground.
