  • nicely done. I'm trying to design 'clocks' as well - ie. repetitive, synchronized mechanisms, since they seem to be the most challenging. they are pretty difficult to do well, since the game seems to be focused on just making Rube Goldberg machines... I love your usage of the cog at the top, but how do you control the release mechanism at the bottom?

    I think you're referring to the gap in the wood pieces that the balls fall through? It is just two boards spaced just the right distance apart. The balls seem to be able to fall through the gap but they take some time to do so. The cog at the top depends on just the right tolerance too so that the balls stop but will pass under when the gear turns. It took a lot of trial and error to get it just right.
