ill always love woody's the best but this is great, i respect john so much

I think this is the best version out there. Not because Woody didn't do it the best, but it sounds the way it should-just one clawhammer guitar, and a guy with a raspy, worn, tired and rugged voice. Then, a little bit of back vocals to add to the effect.

This makes me yearn for the tracks.

This is beautiful. I had no idea there was a Hobo Lullaby.
-
I first heard this song a few years ago by The New Binkley Bros. from Chattanooga. This version is good too.

@stablejelly Ah, I see! Thanks. He did perform it, though, and since he wrote so many great songs I thought he may have written this one as well. Interesting, that he found this to be his favorite song.
-
@DiggerAlder2008 No, Guthrie didn't write it, but he said it was his favorite song.
-
@DiggerAlder2008 It's not traditional, but Guthrie didn't write it either. A by-choice-hobo named Goebel Reeves wrote it.
-
Is this really a traditional? I thought Woody Guthrie wrote this - actually I am quite sure.
