Record 46.2 Million Americans Now Live In Poverty

The share of all people in the U.S. who fell below the poverty line rose to 15.1% last year from 14.3% in 2009, pushing the ranks of the poor to 46.2 million in 2010 -- the fourth straight increase and the largest number of people living in poverty since record-keeping began 52 years ago, the Census Bureau reported Tuesday.

As one of those who is WAY below the poverty level I must say you don't look like you're hurtin there, Bud. My family of 4 survives on minimum wage and pays out over half of our pay in "low income rent". I can tell you right now Dems and Repubs have tried to no avail to make things right. Until we fix the government they are working for we'll just end up shooting ourselves in the foot over and over. It's time for a complete overhaul. No Blame, just a proverbial redesign of the government.

the poverty and the homelessness aren't the problem of the USA only but the shame of the all world.I'm living in Hungary 'n I can say lot of people are in deep poverty and totally hopelessness (particularly from the beginning of the economic crisis).The moratorium of eviction which was ruled by the government just has ended and hundreds of thousands will lost their houses int the following months...I just say a big thank for the god every evening that i've got a work 'n I can care of my family!

who cause this montrosities on us, the american people, the politicians ! blame the people, these politicians needs to go to an evaluation booth and check their heads, their the one who are suffering from paranoia, dellusions, psychosis, schizoprenia ! why, look what is happeing to our nation, their judgment is so imbalance, then they will take the food from our table, the clothes on our back, the roof over our heads and invest it outside our country and who gain from the money, outsiders !
