Hey. Beautiful chickens:) I just got some (possibly) OEGBantam chicks at the feed store and I was just curious as to what kind of personality and temperament that yours have?

Very good temperment. They are very prolific and good mothers. High hatch rates and relatively disease resistant.

man are you sure the cock isn't a True gamefowl? he looks just like a blue face hatch. instead of a blue red

He was made from several crosses utilizing Red Jungle Fowl, Gleeson Whitehackle, and Standard Old English Games. The hens are of a cross between the Gleeson Whitehackle/Red Jungle Fowl and a splash old english game bantam hen in 2002 and bred back to the Gleeson line. These were bred to the ABA standard and are ornamental only, not functional.

Red jungle fowl. explains why he looks like a hatch. also. one of your little hens look like a "Grey" in gamefowl. but basically silver duckwing.m but uh. why so many crosses?

Your right, one is a golden Duckwing hen, she is from a cross I made with a Duckwing male from Arizona, not sure the background of the male, but she is cousin to the cock and blue hens. The crosses were necessary in making the bantam strain and securing the proper type in the bantam that I am looking for, namely good conformation in body and type, proper feathering, and overall good game characteristics in a 2 lb bird.
