ESP Horizon, zoom Q3, was trying to get a tone similar to the Death Magnetic album. I didnt get a chance to listen to this video before I left the practice space so I didnt realize that it was bass-heavy in the recording. It didnt quite capture the diezel signature nuances as well as your ears are hearing them since the camera mic was not in front of the speaker cone, but they are still there. You can get the idea though. Diezel amps are out of this world!
Amp is running a matched quad of KT88 and I am playing it at low volume for the recording, it really opens up with KT88's and has great definition and aggression in there when the volume gets turned up a bit. These sound a TON beter to me that EL34s in this amp. KT88s make this amp BRUTAL. EL34s turn into mush when they are cranked. KT88s remain tight, HUGE, and defined and wtill have a really nice harmonically rich thing going on. KT77 was easily my second favorite power tube in this amp, it had great headroom (definition), bass response and attack. I tried EL34BHT, EL34BSTR, E34L, KT77, KT88.
