This procedure was performed using a dental operating microscope by Dr. Michael L Chandler. Dr. Chandler practices Complete Family Dentistry in Edmond Oklahoma. This is a 12 y/o with that has a pit and fissure dental sealant on her 6 year molar. Dental sealants are designed to be a preventive measure to protect a tooth from decay. However, improperly placed dental sealants can hide decay and lead to an undetected large cavity. A large cavity can lead to a possible root canal, crown or even tooth loss. The dental sealant was replaced by a bonded dental composite restoration.

  • I would have to be asleep for someone to do something like THAT to me. I just got 4 sealants today, and the stuff overflowed, and now there is hard cured pointy sealant pointing out from my tooth, and it is irritating the skin under my tongue, what do I do? What for it to crack off, or what?
