Starring James Drury as Joe Baker, Woody Strode, Kathryn Hays, Red Buttons. A prison inmate comes up with a plan to break out in order to be near his wife--and also the $50,000 in stolen cash for which he was originally imprisoned. Filmed in 1967 but not broadcast until 1970.
Woody Strode was in the title role in John Ford's 1960 Western epic Sargeant Rutledge. This was one of the many films that looked at the race relations between two minorities....the African-American and the Native American. Its out on DVD!
I just barely remember seeing this movie but I remember how much I really liked it.
