The Archon Genomics X PRIZE presented by Medco is an incentivized Prize Competition, with $10 Million to be awarded to the first Team to design and build a rapid and inexpensive technology proving they can accurately sequence the whole human genome.

this prize is being bankrolled by a medical insurance company known for having previously defrauded the US government, yet it's still an example one can cite when arguing AGAINST the common modern narrative that corporatism only fosters egocentric greed and creates socioeconomic inequality.

it's a big, fat, glossy corporate advert, and i'm against privatising basic needs like healthcare, but i feel positive about this... altho still waiting for that electric car breakthrough from last time...
