HSV 7 Hello Melbourne 1985

The FIRST of the iconic "Hello Melbourne" campaign for HSV Channel 7.

It began in late January 1985 and this first installment was quite beautiful .. showing off the charm and beauty of Melbourne.

The music theme was far from original having been lifted off a generic campaign that aired across local stations in the USA.

But it worked for Melbourne and remained in place for 3 years until the network campaign of 1988 "Let's Celebrate".

It beats the Hell out of what we have now, most of the programs are rubbish no Bert Newton, no Midday show, no night time movies and no where for bands and entertainers to appear except on Xfactor! Television was better then than now, take for example ABC 24 news service, repeating and when they cross to a breaking story don't even have a person on camera just audio most of the time, where as in the 80's etc a personn would be on camera [real camera] not mobile phone quality image!
