Can anyone believe that James L. Brooks won the best director Oscar over Bergman? For that matter how did Sydney Pollack win over Akira Kurosawa?

Schumann's Piano Quintet, op. 44. Second movement. That piece is one of the greatest things that has ever happened.

Schubert? Schumann? Someone who knows?

Wondefull film, there is no words to express how Bergman took every chilhood to tell his own's...

Fanny och Alexander är den i särklass bästa film jag har sett. Den vänder på perspektiven och får en att se världen ur ett barns ögon. På nytt.

beautiful film, this film stands on it's own in history, if it was made in english the populist market would have hyped it up as one of the very best, i already consider it such
Bergman, like Tarkovsky and Antonioni, takes patience... but when you open your mind to his work, you begin to view the world differently. Fanny & Alexander is one of the most powerful films I have ever seen because of its intensely personal context, regarding Bergman's own life and experiences. His use of classical music is commanding, perfect, and powerful. Fanny & Alexander is a breathtakingly beautiful film, not only in its imagery, but in the faces of its myriad of characters.

One of the most beautiful openings of all time. This film is like poetry in motion.
