hey there! Nice video and nice bird! you think i can teach my lovebird and cockatiel to free flight? can you give some tips or give some links on where i can learn how to train them to do this? thanks!

I can't do free flying here. We have hawks. He's not that talented of a flyer yet.

My Quaker only flies to my xbox controller.. I don't know why, but he is in love with it. And is very territorial and protective over it. I can't play video games with him anymore b/c he turns into a demon bird.

Hello - I have a wonderful Quaker, also flighted and i am training him outdoors. Can you tell me how to ensure he will fly back to me? We are very close but i am a little afraid he will just decide to fly too far way to come back. Any ideas are appreciated. I also have a sun conure I want to train. He is close friends with my Quaker and they both want to be with me all the time.

Hi, you can´t ensure he will come back to you unless properly trained, it has nothing to do with being attached or bonded to you. You can visit and join Parrotrecalltraining yahoo group and learn from the basics, that´s my advice, good luck and good training.

He is a beautiful bird! Are you afraid he will fly away? He is a smart bird. I look forward to seeing more video of him!

Thanks, no I´m not afraid, because he is a well trained bird and he stays in the backyard and come when called. He enjoys to take some flights over the neighborhood...

that's so cool! My quaker only flys to me when he's scared, hungry, or wants to play. =(

Beeing hungry and wanting to play with you are good reinforcers to condition a cued flight to a target hand or arm, that would be a good begining...
