I was 4 yrs old when my dad bought this very same SLR in 1985! When I took photography class in college (2003), I'm surprised that his X-700 was still functioning & in ok shape (just needed to be cleaned) Prior to 2003, it was last used in 1995 during my elementary school graduation. Now, it's been 6 yrs since the last time I used it (I'm using Canon T1i now). I stored it in our old house w/ its leather soft case in place. Hopefully it'll still work once I power it up! Thanks for this video! =)

I have the same camera and film advance lever won't go all the way, do I need it fixed?

You never knows well for your minolta camera. I only know minolta fan says its optics are good only. The bottom of the slr was not mean for AA batteries. Thks.

Sony owns minolta now so im sure all their optics are getting used now

@jakepolo1 Well, where i live it varries only by a half a $ but usualy its 5-6 $ to scan a roll.
explain to me why Minolta is as great as Nikon and Canon?

@panzarw For me, it's all about the optics. Minolta glass is extremely clear. Minolta cameras are also very affordable as well.

@panzarw Processing film isn't as expensive as buying a digital SLR. :)
