Drew Brophy at Unsound Surf

In July of 2008, renowned surfboard artist Drew Brophy came to Unsound Surf Shop in Long Beach, NY. Drew gave a demonstration of his art by decorating a surfboard. When he asked if there were any other artists in the room, I said I was a painter and had also recently begun painting surfboards (with his inspiration, of course). He invited me to help him decorate the board by adding some finishing touches to his artwork, and I was more than happy to! It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. He is a very nice guy with a lot of really cool stories, and an amazing talent for art! To decorate the board, we used Sharpie paint pens and uni-posca paint pens, which Drew Brophy sells on his website along with a lot of other cool things. The markers are Sharpie brand, I think you can find them on Drew Brophy's website... they're just water based paint pens. =)
