@Apologist117 Patriarch Bartholomew may be a freemason and an ecumenist and a not so secret uniate, but he is still the canonical Patriarch of Constantinople. Until a LAWFUL COUNCIL deposes him, rebuffs the innovators, it is the obligation of Orthodox Christians to remain WITHIN THE CHURCH and maintain unity without parting the Robe of Christ.By leaving the Church and engaging in unlawful rebellions, we allow people like this papist easy victory.Esphigmenou must call for conciliar resolution.

I have respect for our other european christian brothers but we can never forget the events of 1202-1204 when byzantion was destroyed amd its greek orthodox christian people slaughtered by the catholic crusaders. We can forgive but we can never forget so we can be friends but we can never become one and whole again it is unthinkable. Those councils rock, they pretty much lay it out, however, these days, these councils are being forgotten, just read timothy wares book "the orthodox church" these councils are no where listed, however, the 1920's encyclical is most definately listed...hmmmmm wonder why?

In the past, it has been the monks and nuns who have come out when true Orthodoxy is challenged by heresy and stood for the truth, sometimes even at the cost of their lives.
