Dr Chris Parker presented the ALSYMPCA phase 3 trial results for radium-223 (Alpharadin) in advanced prostate cancer at the 2011 European Multidisciplinary Cancer Congress (EMCC 2011) in Stockholm.

Pieter Droppert interviewed Dr Chris Parker for Biotech Strategy Blog (http://biotechstrategyblog.com) at the meeting about the challenges and opportunities for radium-223 (Alpharadin) in advanced prostate cancer.

It is the first bone targeted agent that offers both an overall survival benefit and delay to first skeletal related event (SRE) in prostate cancer patients with bone metastases.

Subject to regulatory approval, radium-223 (Alpharadin) is expected to be a new treatment for advanced prostate cancer patients.
