The Plymouth Fife and Drum Corps, Plymouth, Michigan visited Marine Cpl. Turbett's grave at Arlington National Cemetery Thursday, August 5th. It stormed heavily as we waited an hour at the chapel gate of Ft. Myer. Once the rain stopped, we proceeded to section 60. SS...G Lindsay Natiw of the US Army's Old Guard (and my daughter) directed us to Jake's grave. Corps president Al Johnson opened an informal service. As thunder echoed overhead, I read a letter from one of Jake's friends, Nikkolas Pigg, then led a short prayer. Three of our corps members, Sydney Stabler, Bridgette Rowe and Jacob McCabe and laid flowers at Jake's grave stone. After a moment of silence, the rain began to fall again and we took a few moments to walk around Section 60. The weather during our visit was a stark contrast to the snowstorm the day he was brought home down Ford Road back in February. All of us were deeply moved & honored by the experience of being at Jake's grave as well as the other brave souls buried in section 60 and ANC.
