Dr. explain this to me, here i live in Mexicali Baja California Mexico, there was a huge outbreak of rikettsia on the poor communities of this city, them after two months appeared in april the swein flu, Dr. here temperatures in summer reach the 50 C degrees and in winter we are at 23 C degrees, why do we have this environmment?, is because to much lack of primary public services, dust, dirty, pets infected, contamination, why we have all this here in this little mexican frontier city whit USA?

Well in regards to the Rickettsia, it is because of poor living conditions and proximity to animals. The bacteria which caused the Rickettsia out break in Baja is Rickettsia rickettsii, and causes Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. It is carried by brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). Conditions facilitating this outbreak include the large number of stray dogs, illegal landfills, and environmental conditions that allow ticks to proliferate and people to be exposed to those ticks.
