How to install CyanogenMod 9 on the HP Touchpad, including downloading and installing all the required apps on a computer thats never been used for this before and a plain WebOS Touchpad.
I was lucky enough to get a 16gb in the fire sale and have installed nearly every version of CM as they were released. I was asked to create a tutorial on one of my other video's so here it is.
Anything I link or type in the video will be noted with a number in the video and the link or what I typed will appear next to that number below -
0 - http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp - Not in the video, but you need Java
1 (skip this, go to 1a and use that instead) - https://developer.palm.com/content/re... - WebOS SDK/PDK Download
1a An alternative to SDK/PDK is WebOS Quick Install from http://forums.webosnation.com/canuck-...
2 - https://twitter.com/#!/dalingrin - Dalingrins Twitter Feed
3 - http://rootzwiki.com/topic/18843-rele... - Rootz Wiki Page for CM9 Alpha 2
4 - http://goo.gl/u9s8g - Google Apps Download
5 - webos20090606 - Search string to turn Dev mode on in WebOS
6 - http://code.google.com/p/universal-no... - Universal Novacom Installer (because the HP SDK didnt install?)
7 - C/Program Files/Palm, inc - Where you open the command prompt to run the install command (Hold Shift while right clicking on the folder and select "Open Command Window here" - easier than cd'ing over)
8 - "cminstall" - folder created on the Touchpad that the cyanogen/gapps/moboot/clockwork .zips are put in
9 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showt... - XDA thread with installation instructions and the code to use (I cant post it here, contains illegal characters)
If Google Market does not install then from android hold the power button, select "reboot", then "recovery" into recovery, or just turn on and at the moboot screen select "Boot Clockwork mod" if turned off. This will start clockworkmod (cwm). Use the volume up and down buttons to navigate the menus and select with the home button.
Install zip from sdcard
choose zip from sdcard
then select the cminstall folder and then gapps_ics_4.0.3_v11.zip that should still be in there, scroll down to the "Yes - Install gapps_ics_4.0.3v11.zip" and it will install the zip, once done it will reboot and be all set.
