Last Sunday I ran a 10k road race as part of the Kobe City Marathon on Rokko Island. Actually, 10km was the longest distance. I haven't been running much these days, but it was a lot of fun to do. It snowed on and off throughout the morning which is an odd thing here in Kobe; even in the Winter. In two weeks I run in a half marathon. I haven't been running much so my half time will
be a snail's pace, but that's alright! I run for fun :)

I've found that my hobby of running has definitely given me an interesting perspective on Japan. I've come to realize that no matter where you are, runners are runners. It's amazing. Running is definitely a cross-cultural passion and love. It doesn't matter whether you speak English or Japanese, if you love running, in a way, you speak the same language (I know...sounds cheesy, but I mean it).

  • Nice video. Many people may have stayed home and not run because of the snow. Great job. Stay warm.

  • Thanks. I suppose, coming from Canada, a little snow never kept me away from something....often caused me to be later though ;)

  • Damn, that is such bad luck having that snow get u off guard. But hey, looks like it cleared up afterwards, u pulled it thru, ran the race, even while holding a camera. Impressive!

  • Yeah...it was weird taking the camera along. Some cool running folks in Chicago have been curious to see me run in Japan! Actually they have a channel and I'll be doing some stuff with them soon!

Yep...strange weather, but it was a fun day :) Half marathon coming up next week!

  • A little snow never hurts us Canadians.

I was wondering why that guy was yelling "It hurts!", that's pretty funny.

  • that wedgie must have hurt lol, he was saying Itai!!

  • Hai...I'm feeling great :)

  • げんきですか。

  • Man...it was hard. I set out everything the night before, but then the snow threw me off. The first time this year we had some. I just threw a bunch of other shirts in my bag and made the final decision on what to wear just before the race. Had to change again in the washroom of a coffee shop!

    Thanks for watching:)

  • Thanks
