Pics to start with - video towards the end...

...Last night, Chili Dog was woofing outside and I sternly suggested to her that she "stop that and come indoors". Then this morning we heard some thumping which we attributed to cats jumping off the roof. Turns out there was a raccoon trapped in our dry and empty pool - guessing he'd been in there at least two days, if not longer :(.

We gave him some water to lap as well as a bucket of water. He spent about 20 minutes asleep in the bucket, recovering, before bumbling off up the plank that we provided.

Thinking about it now, I wonder if he was a bit poorly before he got stuck in there, as it seems like any self-respecting raccoon should have been able to climb out fairly easily... it's only 4' deep.

  • Agreed, he doesn't look quite right. Maybe elderly? Thanks for posting!
