@arixtos Basically when reaching the minimum altitude, a pilot can continue and descend below the minimum altitude only when the approach lights and/or the runway are in sight, otherwise he/she has to perform an immediate go around.
Unfortunately in this case the commander decided to go around just a couple of second before the impact, when the aircraft was already several hundred feet below the minimum altitude.
Needless to say that it was much too late.

According to the final accident report the company never properly addressed some weaknesses of the captain and the copilot made no attempt to prevent the continuation of the flight below the minimum descent altitude.
The only good thing is that we can and we have to take the chance to learn from this crash so that millions of people can fly safely everyday.
