Rising Signs perform "Grey Man" at the Dundee Doghouse in June 2006. The song's author and lead singer Frankie Duffy claims that Nick Cave's Grinderman track "Palaces Of Montezuma" is astonishingly similar. Grinderman track at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30U1-5-k1P4

  • The more you listen to the lyrics in this song the more you can begin to parallel them into your own life.. where as` Palaces of Montezuma` from my point of view is nothing more than pyscho-babble... Well Done for at least bringing it to our attention.. and hope other people take notice.. for everything happens for a reason and its too much a co-incidence for there not to be some connection here.

  • Palaces Of Montezuma comparisons aside, this is an awesome tune in it's own right.

  • Hey everybody, I just figured out A, B and E chords. Ok well time for me to start accusing people of ripping me off, cya later. bye-bye!

  • probably the BEST band. never to BE tasted.....shame!!!!

  • Sounds like Duffy ol' boy is trying to drum up some publicity by accusing Nick Cave of copying his song over a similar chord progression.

  • Started like Grinderman, then turned into Hootie and the Blowfish. Clearly I understand why Nick Cave copied this song...

  • @Gibbo2012 Did you say "psycho-babble" just because Nick Cave sings "psychedelic invocations/Of Mata Hari at the station"? Because there's nothing about psychology anywhere in the song besides the syllable "psych". You don't know what these words mean, do you? You should look them up because they have completely different meanings.

  • This song is boring. It's completely inferior to Palaces of Montezuma, which is intricate and sophisticated. The similarities between the song's melodies are so simple and mundane as to obviously be coincidental. This guy's accusation that Nick Cave would have heard this song, liked it(!) and stole it, is hilarious. If you knew anything about Nick Cave you would know he would hate this song. It sounds like the worst kind of pop music, which he despises.

  • Wait, does this mean I'm not allowed to use A, B and E chords in a song in case I'm accused of plagiarism?

  • boring

  • @thunderboltdynamite id view it lol.......fuck id favourite it!

  • Coming from Dundee. I am deeply saddened by the lack of support in regard to something that is plainly obvious. It must rise from its culture `If it doesn't benefit me I am not interested` `Its time to wake up and change your ways Dundee or soon you'll not even be a port in a storm`
