For Cyberote. Jazz Remix/Arrangement of the intro to ExiledCracken's Youtube show "Zufadt Random Town".
~Vonyco

Some people say this is a bad remix. Some people don't like interesting cord structure. Some people are smarter than I.

  • I gotta say. I really hate the percussion. Then again, I've never really accepted any synthesized jazz.

  • ;(

Well, yeah, you're absolutely right. Jazz is more about the WAY you play it instead of the actual melodies so digitally made Jazz usually doesn't work.

But I am curious, what's so bad about the percussion?

  • Awesome

  • I've got to say, I like it for the greatness of Zufadt, but not for the greatness of the remix, I'm afraid 6/8 is just an odd meter for a normal Jazz piece.

  • Yeah, what you said makes sense. I really could have made a better drum part, but the tempo was pretty strange so I guess it kinda caught me off guard. :P

    Don't worry, I get what you're saying. ^-^

  • Lol. Great! I couldn't quite tell it was the Zufadt theme at first, but after a few listens, I got it! AWESOME REMIX!!! Thanks Vony :D

  • Ok, I didn't mean "snare hits on one and two," I should've said "snare on three and one"

  • This would have the typical alternating snare and bass seen in popular music, except not in 4/4.

Forgive if I'm not clear/right. I can make a video explaining on my drum set if you want.

  • Ok, I shouldn't have said I HATED it. I'm not gonna say it's bad. But the way you're putting an emphasis on those two beats with the constant snare hits on one and two makes it sound very clunky to me.

Here's what you're doing in two 6/8 measures (1 semiquaver per character):

    |o---o-o---o-|o---o-o---o-|

I think using a rock beat would've sounded more natural, like:

    |o---zzo-----|o---zzo-----| (snare)

    |o-----o---o-|o-----o---o-| (bass drum)

  • Nice remix. :P
