@arkangel187045 I almost shed a tear. DAMN, that brings back memories. Old WPIX in NY and Phil Rizzuto's Yanks. I'm a lifelong Mets fand BTW but I followed the Yanks like a true NYer back in the day.

I didn't know Phil Rizzuto was such a great actor. He deserved an Emmy for this ad alone!

man if you grew up in New Jersey in the 80s and did not see at least 1,000 of these commercials a year, you must have had hippy parents who were against TV

Apparently I confused Phil Esposito & Phil Rizzuto, when doing a search for "The Money Store" commercials.

Holy Cow! We miss that old huckleberry. RIP Scooter!

Scooter! We miss you very much! Yankees broadcast isn't the same! With that jerky bastard Michael Kay and that big unit Ken singlton!

Scooter, if you think the tax laws were crazy back then, then you should see them today. You will turn over in your grave. R.I.P. Scooter. You were and always will be the BEST! Yankee games were always a pleasure to watch and listen to. You and your co-host Bill White. What a team! And best of all most of the games were on free TV! The more i think about it and look back and see how much Yankee baseball has changed. Too many commercials for dept collectors and the IRS. Life was simple back then.
He so made Yankees games all the more fun to watch on WPIX channel 11 back in the days. RIP Scooter. Thanks for the memories.

Oh my god, I remember when those low-budget Carvel commercials used to air on WPIX...in fact, on my channel, I have commercial breaks that aired in 1988 on WPIX, with a Carvel "Tom the Turkey" ad!
