Hi it's Tuesday, March 25, 2008. I'm Rebecca Field with today's UPI entertainment update.

Britney Spears' father is staying in control of Britney Spears' affairs for the time being. A California judge reportedly rejected a plea from one of the singer's attorneys, challenging Jamie Spears role as co-conservator. He was given control of her finances in February...following her second stay in an LA psychiatric ward. The singer's Dad is set to hold onto that role until July 31.

George Michael is preparing to head on the road. The British pop star has announced plans for a North American concert tour this summer. It's apparently his first time touring in the region in 17 years. The concert series will promote his upcoming release "Twenty-Five" which goes on sale April 1. Tickets for the concert tour will be available to the general public April 6.

Fans won't be getting their hands on clothing designs by George Clooney...because he says they don't exist. The actor's rep says rumors that he's developing a fashion line called GC Exclusive by George Clooney are completely untrue. His rep says it's a hoax and Clooney has no connection with it. The "Michael Clayton" star is known for his classy fashion sense that's often seen on the red carpet.

Meanwhile Nicole Richie is creating her own fashion products. The new mom tells People magazine she's started designing jewelry with the company Mouawad. Richie says everyone is understanding about the demands of being a mom and gives her flexibility in her schedule. But Richie has more creative designing in mind...she's reportedly releasing an infant fashion line later this year as well.

Former "Friends" star David Schwimmer is making his debut as a director of a feature film. Schwimmer is directing the new comedy "Run Fatboy Run." He attended the film's premiere in Los Angeles last night. The movie's stars Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton were at the event as well. You can catch the old "friend's" new work in theaters this Friday.

That's all for now. Check out a new feature on upi.com called "Healing and Hearing Animals." Thanks for watching.
