The first real storm of 2009 in Norfolk. This broody thunderstorm hung around for 2-3 hours this afternoon, with a rather vivid lightning display, only spoilt by being daytime - this would've looked far more spectacular at night! This was accompanied by some eerie sounding thunder as it echoed around the clouds for several miles.
The first couple of clips are of the thunder as the storm approached. At the end of the video one of the local blackbirds starts singing as the storm retreats.
@ianmann5 We don't tend to get very many here in Andover either. I guess it's because the town is situated in a valley and they tend to go round the outside edge, so we only get the tail-ends.

Wickford, Essex is the place where I see lots of Lightning Activity cuz I dont live far from Rayleigh and Rayleigh is the Lightning Area.. Yp.. If Im bullshitting then I knew Rayleigh is the place to see Lightning strikes in Essex..

we have had about 3 huge thunderstorms in the last 1 week here in newcastle with most with really heavy rain! and some wicked thunder n lightning:P

Harwich was very bad, we had very loud, crackling sounding thunders. Ive posted a vid but quality isn't brilliant!

we had nothing here in berkshire until the evening with just a rumble of thunder in the distance but we had no rain amazingly the wind was gusty for a tie in the evening nice vid though
