@hartommitch That's correct, Ray sounds female, but that's the point. I don't really care to hear a male sing that high, but I can appreciate the ability to accomplish the feat. I suppose we'll never know if Roy could do the same and it doesn't really matter anyway.

@raincoatriver I think Ray could go a little bit higher in falsetto then Roy could but I wonder. I listended to fever and Ray sounds almost female to me. It is too high for me to appreciate it, do you understand? And mabye Roy Orbison just didn't wanted to sing in that key even though he could do it if he wanted it. I heard a version of "mean woman blues" by Ray and in that song he also gets very very high. Higher then I ever heard Roy Orbison singing.

@raincoatriver I disagree with this. If you listen to the end of "Running Scared" then you hear Roy sing the high C in full voice. It would fiitted the end of "I could have loved you so well" great I think.

@hartommitch BTW...I think if Roy sang "I Could Have Loved You So Well", he would have to go into falsetto at the finish. Ray doesn't.

@hartommitch During Ray's career I always read that he had a 41/2 octave range. A singer's singer, like Roy. I think that Ray surpasses Roy in falsetto. If you listen to "Fever" by Ray, it's a good example. Both are terrific singers by any standard and are favorites of mine.

@raincoatriver Thank you. I have listened to that song and like it. Ray shows in this song that he has a big range. It is said that Roy Orbison had a three octave range but now I've listened to this Ray Peterson song I wonder, Does Roy Orbison has got a four octave range too because he sings in the same range as Ray so it seems or has Ray a three octave range like Orbison. What's the difference between these two voices? Has Roy been under-estimated or has Ray been over-estimated?
