MaxMSP Tutorial 1- The very basics

If some of this material is a bit 'arty' for your tastes, don't worry. There is so much you can do in maxMSP, according to your tastes. With a handful of knowledge and a ounce of time, the audio/visual world is your proverbial oyster. ;)

I'm afraid my version of maxmsp is out, so this is the end of these tutorials :( But yes, it's perfectly possible in maxmsp - just google 'jitter maxmsp' and you should find some things :)

Hi,I'm a PC user and I've just got a hold of Max/MSP v.4.6 and I was flabbergasted when I discovered the total diference that is between the Mac version's interface and the PC version.For instance,I can't seem to find the 'show grid/enable snap to grid' option anywhere(not to mention that there is no toolbar on the lower part of the screen).And the only way you can lock your view is by right clicking and choosing the 'lock' option-the only problem is I can't seem to find a way of unlocking it.

@Kirillov23 I believe i was using max5 here - that probably explains the interface difference. Sorry not to be very helpful :(

@icilianfenner Yeh - i've got both 4.6 and 5 on PC. The version 5 is exactly the same as the vid wheras 4.6 looks and performs pretty awfully by comparison!
