INTERVIEW WITH THE MAINE'S KENNEDY BROCK

An interview with Kennedy Brock from Fearless Records' upcoming band, The Maine. Check out their new CD, Can't Stop Won't Stop in stores now!

Here's the transcript because it's hard to hear sometimes:
Me: How did you celebrate the day your CD came out?
Kennedy: Actually we just kinda hung out, we were on this tour and it was the 1st day of the tour, so that's how we celebrated. It was fun we were stoked to have it come out.

M: Why did you decide to put "Count em, One, Two Three" on the CD since you didn't put any of your older songs on it?
K: We were nervous about re-recording a song that we put out on the EP, just incase people got demoidus. It's not that we wanted to change anything- on that song we didn't change the tempo, we didn't change anything except the bridge of the song. We thought that part was lacking and wanted to throw some thing new into it. It was one of the songs we felt was one of the better ones of our previous stuff and we felt we could do better on it.

M: What's your favorite song on the CD?
K: My favorite song on the CD is probably the last one. I thought it was fun, when we were in the studio we go to use a lot of instruments we've never used before slide guitar, accordion and a lot of things. I thought it was cool we got to put that into the song its our style.




M: Have you always been involved with music before this band?
K: I was in a local band with Pat and Garrett for a while. Other than that I was in that band and I've been in this band. I love music as you know but other than that not a whole bunch of interaction.

M: You guys have been having contests to hang out with the band instead of just offering a signed CD or poster so why do you think that's important?
K: I think it's important that we get to hang out with fans and to respond back. The one right now is a promotion contest, they're doing things that help us out so we wanna hang out.

M: My friend wants to know if you picked a winner yet.
K: We haven't made a final decision yet


M: What's the best show you've ever seen?
K: Probably every night on this tour watching Good Charlotte.

M: Who's your man crush
K: I don't really have a man crush [laughs].

M: Do you have a guilty pleasure pop song?
K: I definitley dig Justin Timberlake stuff. I don't have a specific song

M:How is it going from playing small clubs to bigger venues with Boys Like Girls?
K: Its amazing. The kids are awesome every night, they are so into it and it's cool cause I know tons of kids have no idea who we are and they really respond well. Its really fun, it's a dream come true, it's cool.

M: What's your favorite thing to do on a day off?
K: Go to Walmart. We bought fire works the last time we were there. We haven't gotten to launch those off but hopefully when we get into a city where they're legal we will.


M: If a fan wanted to bring you something at a show what should they bring you? [The Maine Crew]
K: Pat would say... he likes steak a lot. Little snacks and stuff we're not picky.

M: Liz wants to know how you guys got on tour with All Time Low and when you guys are going to make a music video.
K: We hung out with them a couple times and they're really cool dudes. We hit it off with them and they told us they wanted to take us on tour with them and we said hell yeah. I'm not sure. I guess when we have some time off from touring well be able to fit it right in.

M: Will the tour be during the fall?
K: Yeah like October, November.

M: Torii_Michelee wants to know if you'll marry her.
K: Absolutely

K: I'm Kennedy I play in a band called the Maine, we have new record out we really worked really hard on it so please go check it out, it's called CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP.
