Dont listen to closely to the nut in the video--me--because I misspeak while using my hands...duh. Anyway, want to install eBay LED H7s from China in your car? You will need to trick the computer—ECU into thinking the LED light bulb has a filament that causes a lot of resistance, right? Right! Thus averting a 'bulb out warning'--code. Sooo use resistors to emulate a closed circuit. Use big ones from radio shack that dont get hot and are cheap, use ones with the most resistance 100Ohms—off the shelf—and in increments of 10 watts. In this case 3@100Ohm 10watt do the trick. You should know a little about messing with your car before trying this. Good luck.

  • I hate to tell you, when you add resistors in series you add the resistance. When you put them in parallel you divide them, so 3x100 in parallel = 33ohms at 30watts. I'm glad they are working for you, some cars are not that easy when it comes to CANBUS and PWM circuits. Once you get an error code the computer shuts off the power to the circuit in some. In the UK, LEDs do not pass the MOT test in the same way aftermarket HIDs don't. Both invalidate insurance and can lead to prosecution!

  • @urbex2007 Thanks, not to good with electrical calcs.., so your saying I could have used one 33 ohm resister? As far as the law gos--here in the US--, I think DOT will let you use fireflys in a jar for DRL's, but for headlamps that is a different story...Porsche and Audi from what I heard jumped through some hoops to get their new LED' HL's approved, and as we know diod lighting is going big now that things have crashed and oil is getting more and more mixed with blood.

  • I want to buy H7 smd led bulbs (with 18 little leds), and my question is that what is Your opinion about it? I mean u recomand or not? Can i see with this led lights better, or halogen is better? (I dont have money for xenon). Please try to reply soon, thanks

  • @sahmanix GOOD question...I would not recomend or use LED's for a PRIMARY night-time light source!!

They are more for D bling XF, Audi and Porsche are using them as DRL's and they look very cool. But talk with someone that works on BMW for instance about the problem with the X5--I think it was--with LED break lights...and they have some issues.

  • @sahmanix PS I would save up and get a GOOD qualtiy HID kit...JMO

  • These dont look bright enough at all. Are the ok for road use?

  • Remember I painted the parabolic lens black and these are DRL's ONLY--the car has more sinister look, but still very functional. Using these to replace a regular H7 headlight or hi beam combo IMO is not a great idea for a couple reasons...

  • @urbex2007 Thanks for tips. I already bought H7 55W 6000K xenon kit. I tryed LED lights, stock halogen lights and some GP Thunder blue colored blulbs. Still now the xenon is the best (my opinion). I also made a video where I compared the xenon with stock halogen. You can check at my channel and serch for "Xenon vs Halogen" As I said the video is made by myself, so its not so great, nothing special, but I hope that You can see the difference. Thanks again and have a nice day.

  • @sahmanix You're better off buying some decent headlight bulbs like Osram Nightbreakers for £10. They give off far more light than standard bulbs. LED as headlights is like fitting candles to the bonnet. The reflectors are not designed for them so they only light up, they don't project light. As for HID, illegal to fit in the UK unless you have self levellers, high pressure washers and projectors. You invalidate the insurance and face a huge fine if caught or if you have an accident.

  • I went out to radio shack and I bought tha resistors were do I hook up the wires on the resistor to exactly

  • @rmaltbie1 Thanks very much for fast reply :) Have a nice day, and dont drive too too fast :P Cheers
