This is an extract of my shred tutorial that i am putting together. I came up with the idea of recording guitar licks as i teach guitar in the portsmouth area but often get calls for lessons futher away. Now i can teach people far away :) This is a 7 note per beat g major - e minor sequence. Please note there is no explanation with this video as it come in written form with tab and notation. This is just the video example.

  • Are you playing the different pentatonic patterns up and down the neck?

  • Hi, no its the first 6 notes of the G major scale....

    Dan

  • Oh - so it's just the G scale but you're going higher and higher in octaves?

  • Yep, on the low E is frets 3,5,7,5,3,5,7 then the same on the A string. This pattern is repeated up a further two octaves.

  • I rather not use distortion. my amp has a "metal" effect and i just use it...
