When I see the live Olympic Torch telecasts in North Korea and Thailand I feel happy, because unlike the palefaces, Japs and non-Chinese Asian viruses the people there are friendly and are not inclined to cause any social disruption or any embarrassment to their leaders by immature public behavior.
You know what would've been a truly symbolic gesture? If a torchbearer ran from Seoul toward the DMZ, and simply walked across the border to North Korea, and hand off the flame from there. I think a moment like that would've made the Olympic torch relay a little more Olympian and symbolic.
Agreed. Very well said my Asian friend. Good fences make for good neighbors. I will try to get some alternate news and opinion other then what we have been bombarded with here in the states about Tibet.
thanks...it's always good to know that you are even willing to go and find the other view...you don't have to agree and I'm not going to force you..no way! but as long as you are willing to take that step to challenge your own thinking then you are on your way to sainthood.. I say good fences is needed but a gate must also exist so that we can still see each other and give a kiss...a handshake instead of finger pointing and girly slaps
if you are going to boycott the Olympics..make sure that during the few weeks...don't read or watch anything to do with the olympics...and no I'm not going to call you an ignorant hypocrite because you already all one just like me ( we all are)...
let me re-phrase or you-All governments are evil and politics are evil too...so by specifically pointing out that the Chinese are being evil, that's generalisation (yes..not with a z but with a s..all correct) as for Tibet,it rings many ay bell.I visit that place every two years and do research there..so I know a lot more than you.
