I composed this song for piano trio back in 1985 or 86, and the manuscript sat in my desk for almost 20 years. Then I met Frank Tribble, the guitarist here, and he learned the chordal melody on guitar. Gary learned the drum part on his own, and it fit like a dominant on a triad.

The name is from the Delphi Valley, southwest of Olympia, Washington, a pastoral and idyllic area where I lived for a time in the mid-late 1980s.

This features Gary Irvine on drums and Frank Tribble on guitar. This was recorded back in 2005; hence my buzzed haircut.

  • What is that guy playing? Is it a cross between a cello and a bass? Cuz a bass is played standing up and that looks exactly like a bass but he's sitting down. IDK still great job guys. Now that I think about it, that might be a viol de gamba.

  • I hope I do this tune justice....

  • I absolutely loved this.

    Wonderful solos all around!

  • Thank you!

    I enjoy a lot!
