These debit card fees are usually flat, mandatory fees for anyone who accepts debit. That's why you see minimum purchase requirements for cards at some smaller businesses: Your $1 purchase is a loss to them when they have to pay $3 for every debit transaction. And, as part of most of these debit contracts, retailers are not allowed to discount non-debit users to make up for this.

This is so typical !!. This is where the rich get richer,at others expense. Something should be done about this !. I say we BOYCOTT any merchant, that won't honor their agreements,or dont' deal fairly with their customers . Without their consumers,they will be in DEEP trouble !!!.
