AMD Phenom II X6 vs Intel Core i7 980X

Lets look at CPU processors for a change. If your looking to build your own 6 core (hexacore) PC, look to AMD, save yourself $800! Other than that, there are two major differences though. The AMD Phenom II X6 has 512kb x 6 L2 cache, and 6MB L3 cache. While the Intel has only 256kb x 6 L2 cache, but has 12MB L3 cache. The AMD has more L2 cache but the Intel has more L3 cache. Which one would you go for? I'll go for AMD, L2 cache is used in more general computing plus you save $800!

on 2010 AMD phenom II x6 series were better than intel core i7, right now intel core i7 2nd generation are way better than AMD FX, I've used both CPU right now im sticking with my old phenom II, ill upgrade some day later

@tutamal You know that Intel won't work on an AMD motherboard right? AMD and Intel CPUs require there own respective AM3 or Intel X64 motherboard.

AMD is cheaper than intel. Intel may be faster but would you rather pay for something cheaper by $50 to get all the same features just a step down?? and who is actually gonna use these "amazing high end features" anyway??? dont hate, I think both processors are amazing in their own ways!

@UltraPCB I don't know who you're talking to because this video was recorded on a Mac obviously. See the dock and the top menu bar, it's a Mac, and Apple only uses Intel now.

@ViciousDave4Life Do you know what the word technology means? I hope that you do! You can't compare the AMD Processor's technology to the Intel's technology! Intel Core i7-2630QM 2.9 GHz has 4 cores (8 virtual cores) and it's score at the cpubenchmark web site is 6,294 on the other hand is AMD Phenom II X6 1100T that has a score of 6,305! This means that the Intel's technology is much better than the AMD's Processor technology! 4 Intel Core i7 2630QM cores = 6 AMD Phenom II cores!
