The US push to secure domestic gas supplies has seen a desperate scramble to drill into the Marcellus Shale formation. But the process involved - hydraulic fracturing - is now the focus of a bitter dispute over environmental damage and community rights, as the Ecologist Film Unit reports. • One question. I am from Bradford in Yorkshire England. now why the fuck are we twinned with some French town and not Bradford county? your Bradford looks awesome

  • @vickyvanvliet - get a group together and raise awareness locally - get people to lobby their local political representatives - stand up and make your voice heard!

  • What can we do? The Oil companies are burying the concerns with PR. What in the world can we do to get word out?

  • Don't forget how they really don't care what happens TO YOU AND ME as long as they get their money. DO SOMETHING AMERICA.

  • OH YES, YOUR HOME MAY BLOW UP AND YOU LIKELY WILL GROW SICK AND DIE OF LEUKEMIA ETC. WHEN THEY FRACK YOUR PROPERTY.

  • DOUBLE:

THEY WANT THE GAS, AND THEY WANT YOU TO BUY THEIR WATER.

  • I am sure that the reason it is so difficult to get to the gas is because IT IS A HIGHLY DANGEROUS THING TO BE DOING TO THE EARTH AND TO ALL LIVING THINGS!!!

  • @walls0stone Your workin for them arent ya? look at his channel!!

  • Bull Crap! first off, it was quiet becouse it was POOR! FYI red water? did you look at the Tioga River? it's dead...filled W/acid from the rock here. the facts on this are so off it's not funny! 3 or 4 a day?...NO they don't sell the rights, you lease them! FYI, the water burned here long ago..it's upper D gas and it's been common here for centuries. that is why towns here have gas vents in the building codes. OMG.. you ppl are so one sided

  • Discussion by Northrup and Ingraffia of radioactive frack wastewater getting under-treated and released into PA streams and rivers from which comes drinking water looks downright prescient after reading the NY Times series last week which studied fracking and drinking water over the last 4 years. We live in Honesdale PA where we're still under DRBC moratorium. Watching this film is like watching the future coming towards us.
