The command for starting a cabal-dev ghci session within Emacs haskell-mode: sh -c "cd ~/project-dir && cabal-dev ghci".

I record and edit in ScreenFlow on OS X from within a fullscreen emulator running Linux.

You can also use cabal-ghci, which is available from Hackage and is much more focused than cabal-dev (also because cabal-dev will be slowly phased out when cabal-installed itself acquires sandboxing).
