@carameluz Can I just ask....did you even watch the video? Because that was not my point at all.

Very well thought video. eating disorders strike during the teen years so often because your body needs more calories during that time and you get HUNGRY so you EAT and then you GROW. When you grow, you gain mass in all forms: bone, muscle, as well as fat,. And with all pressure the media puts on girls to be thin, they freak out, starve themselves, and do long-term damage to their bodies.

awesome

and starve oneself won't help. you may not eat to try to be less overweight, but when you get to eat again you will get the weight again. so it doesn't help much to starve, and is not healthy

Aha yeah. :)
I used to be really self-conscious about my self, cause everyone always wore this brand named clothes, and I didn't like them cause they were styled tighter, and tight clothes just make me uncomfortable.
But now I'm just thankful that I'm healthy, and not unhealthy and skinny. O.o
I hate the media, it drives me crazy.
I make my own views on everything. XD
I understand and even agree with you that the media is deceptive when it comes to the correct size of a adult. The truth is that being over weight puts a strain on your body and your internal organs. There is nothing wrong with being pudgy but, make sure you are pudgy from avocados or walnuts not from twinkies or candy bars. On the comment about your shirt size Large being a small years ago. It is actually the other way around, your size large would actually be a XXL even 15 years ago....

yes, I understand. I dont eat unhealthy though, not at all. I am "pudgy" from "walnuts and avocados", lol, nicely put, but i get what you mean =) Its always good to learn new things. =)

I have this exact view on the matter.
I've always thought I've been a little overweight though.
But I don't starve myself to try to be like what's in the media.
Like I hate those stores that make the even XL like super tight.
There are so many girls out there that get put down by this. :(
Even though I think I'm a bit overwieght, I'm still happy with myself because I am atleast healthy.

omg, I am so happy you wrote this! I thought EVERY girl believed the media, only cause every girl I ever knew always said something like, "I'm so fat" or ugly, when they aren't. Please always keep this view of yourself okay? Only if your weight becomes such an issue that it is affecting your health, that's between your and your doctor. But, as far as appearance goes, NEVER feel ashamed, okay? =) You are beautiful the way you are, and no, I don't have to see you to be able to say that =) Rock on!

Omg, I HATE the media. I do the same thing when I go into stores, Ill try on a small, and it wont fit, then Ill say "Im so fat" but then I realize Im not, XD Now everytime I see a commercial or an ad with a girl thats like 2 pounds, I roll my eyes. There are girls out there however that have that BODY TYPE, so its not their fault to begin with, just naturally skinny, and thats ok.
