I agree, it is an unnecessary label. Just because you care for your fellow human rights and freedoms doesn't mean you have to be labeled as humanist. Do we have to label everything we do as humans? I'm also against being cruel to animals. Does that make me a member of PETA? No. I don't need an organization to define who I am.

The Bible has only been acessible to the common folk for less than 500 years.William Tyndale1486-1542 was the first to use the printing press to mass publish Bibles for the common man.in 1525. He smuggled them into England from Belguim. He was a hunted man, caugh,tried&executed. I read his lifestory. For over 1000 years the Bible was under lock&key&even many clergy did'nt have access.It took 10 months to handwrite a Bible. The higher ups in religion&government held back the Bible from the people

John Wycliffe1330-1385 who translated the Bible in 1382 from Latin into the early-middle English of the day beleived that the Bible should be in the language of the common folk as well as in their hands. He died in 1385, however in 1442 his remains were dug up&a trial was held&his bones were burned to powder&then dumped in a river. I read his lifestory.

Humanists are destructive creatures since they follow only their own wants and desires and never regard humanity as a whole. Its a code word.

I look forward to a day when people cease appealing for the intervention of g:ds, spirits, or governments, and appeal to people directly. Where do our rights come from? The DOI stated that the Creator endowed all men with unalienable rights. It didn't state that G:d or Providence did. The Creator could be the combination of what's built into us due to the natural selection, plus the surviving practices of past generations of humanity.
