"Little children let us love, not on word or speech, but in truth and action" 1John 3:8

In November 2010, Feed My Starving Children changed lives at Mountain View Lutheran Church in Ahwatukee as well as overseas in such countries as El Salvador, Haiti, Nicaragua, North Korea, Philippines, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Feed My Starving Children was invited to set up a food packing event which provided a team-building environment where people of all ages came together for a common cause: packing nutritious, life-saving meals for starving children. These meals awere then shipped to nearly 70 countries around the world, truly offering hope to the hungry.

What did we make? With the input of scientists from major food companies in the Twin Cities area—including Cargill and General Mills—FMSC developed MannaPackTM-Rice, a formula consisting of: 1. Rice, the most widely accepted grain around the world.
2. Extruded soy nuggets, providing maximum protein at lowest cost.
3. Vitamins, minerals and a vegetarian chicken flavoring to give growing children the critical nutritional elements they need.
4. Dehydrated vegetables for flavor and nutrition.

Packaged in small pouches—each of which provides six highly nutritious meals—this easy-to-prepare food blend has won rave reviews all over the world. While the formula was designed to save the lives of severely malnourished and starving children, the ingredients also improve the health, growth and physical well-being of children who are no longer in immediate danger of starvation. A team of food scientists continues to monitor the FMSC formula to ensure that it meets nutritional needs for the world's hungry children.

A single bag of food—which provides meals for six children—costs around $1.15 to produce, and 94 percent of all donations to FMSC goes directly toward the food program.

Feed My Starving Children provides life-saving meals to people who need them most all over the world — from countries affected by natural disaster to places enduring economic despair. FMSC meals are distributed in nearly 70 countries through missionary partnerships at orphanages, schools, clinics, refugee camps and malnourishment centers.

FMSC believes in sustainability -- they don't simply send one shipment of food to a country. Instead, we continue to provide mission partners with the food they need to maintain their feeding programs.

Feed My Starving Children MobilePackTM events allow people across the United States to pack life-giving meals. In 2009, more than 120,000 MobilePack volunteers produced more than 26 million meals during events in New York, Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota, Washington, Illinois, and dozens of other states. In 2010, our MobilePack events are set to produce more than 32 million meals.
