-California Sports Car Club -Saturday, October 22nd, 1955 -Torrey Pines Raceway -6 hour race -Featured race car driver Jack Duff in custom built French Panhard #188H -Places 3rd in H Class on Saturday -Places 1st in H Class on Sunday
This wonderful footage shows Torrey Pines 6 hour race arranged on 14 January 1956. Many race numbers remained the same as in October, but there are also new entries like the black D-type of Jerry Austin (#36). The 3-litre Monza of McAfee/Doheny has also been replaced by 4412 cc 6-cylinder car by now (#76). Interestingly it was entered as "735 Monza 4412". Correct designation would have been 121LM.
Would love to know what that #187 appearing in the end of the clip is. Class F = 1100-1500 cc.
Super video, excellent transfer. Looks like such fun, and it looks pretty safe with mostly hay-bales and plenty of dirt if things get slippery.

#187 is Pete Lovely's Cooper-Porsche a.k.a. Pooper. I have some pics of him racing it in Pebble Beach.
