I'm learning German before I go for an exchange year and I know for a fact that Germans WILL critique my German. It's just part of their culture to tell you the right way so you can get better so I'm looking forward to making mistakes next year

@oledys Learning a language is hard enough. Hope you got a boost. Talk to yourself in the language you are learning whenever you can. Carry a small dictionary in your pocket.

@oledys You will make errors.
everybody does---even people who have been here for 20 years. So what?
When I speak French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Russian, Italian and Dutch I make lots of mistakes, but they understand me. They're glad I made the effort to learn their language. Loren

I found some good teaching material.
Google "Ferd'nand". These are comics without words. First I have he students describe what's happening and practice structures such as the subjunctive. Then I have them role play the situation. The result has been very good.
