  • Maybe Shatner should have just made a good movie instead of an attempt to craft a personal tribute to his awesomeness? I'm an avid ST fan, but I'm sorry, ST V was just rubbish. The premise was absurd and, ultimately, uninteresting. The scope wasn't even worthy of the cast and crew. And the circumstances of the story just wasn't even believable.

    "We're going to see God"

    "Why?"

"Because this Sybok guy nobody ever met before said so or whatever"

    "Ummm ok, works for me!"

  • @Reclaimer77 ,

    "ST V was just rubbish"

    "Why?"

"Because Reclaimer77 said so or whatever"

Anyhow, thanks for your nice comments about the CG work:)

  • @TREK5SE

Reclaimer says so? Look I'm sorry but most everyone agrees that V was the worst of the TOS movies. You act like I'm the only one saying this. Shall I pull up IMDB ratings or Rotten Tomatoes? Come on man, it's not like I said anything that millions of others haven't said before me.

And man, I didn't have room to give you props. Nice CG work. I'm not a fan of CG because it doesn't "look" as real as models, but your work rivals CG that cost much more to produce I'm sure. Nice!

  • @Reclaimer77 , no, not acting like you are the only one saying this. If you would have said that no CG was going to make ST V better, then ofcourse I wouldn't have commented on that, because everyone is entitled to his own opinion, no reason for me to go against that. It would have been a good comment on this video. Instead you commented in a general way, this video was not asking if you like V, it was just to show some graphics. Discussions about ST V, should be discussed at trekbbs or so.

  • @Reclaimer77 , and btw, hope you look at the other files, this one is just no good.

  • @darthkurland Whats funny is that the first star trek movie got a CGI refit in some of its scenes.

  • If only Paramount would allow William Shatner to fix this film closer to what you've shown in this clip.

  • If you don't like Star Trek V (who did), try watching the MST3K version. Absolute hilarity!

  • hey, where's this music from? it's different to the film, good bad and the ugly

  • the cgi isnt too bad obviously it is still pre production, i just found some of the scenes of startrek 5 IE the avoiding the torpedo by jumping to warp were a bit ropey.

I would much prefer that scene to be while they are still moving. Also the shuttle loosing its nacelles as it slams into the back of the bay i think needed fleshing out. i never liked the story behind startrek V i just thought it sucked big style :)

  • This was actually one of my favorite, if not my favorite Star Trek movies. Well done.

  • When I was a kid, i used to play with this enterprise to this music.

  • Wonderful work especially that shot at 0.51 . Paramount can remaster each episode from the 60's & start work on the TNG. Why not this film, its the only Trek film that lets the series in terms on fx

  • @Reclaimer77

The plot of V may have sucked - but one of the best lines of the film: "What does God need with a starship?" is a priceless moment.

    TREK5SE - Awesome CG Work!!!!!!!!!!

  • great !!!! makes me horngry .... hmmgrmmgrmmm...
